Red Kite Feeding Centre

Just a 20-minute drive from Ewe View, Gigrin Farm near Rhayader offers a unique opportunity to witness the majestic red kites up close. Every day, hundreds of these magnificent birds gather for feeding, creating a breathtaking spectacle as they soar and swoop in the sky.

Feeding times are at 2 pm during GMT (end of October to end of March) and shift to 3 pm during BST (end of March to end of October). To ensure a spot, it's advisable to book tickets in advance, as visitor numbers are limited to prevent overcrowding.

Gigrin Farm provides several viewing hides, some of which are wheelchair accessible, allowing you to observe the red kites as they compete with buzzards and ravens for food. For photography enthusiasts, specialist photographic hides are available, offering excellent vantage points just meters from the feeding area.

The farm also features a coffee shop, gift shop, picnic site, and a farm trail, making it a delightful outing for all ages. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short lead and are not permitted in certain areas such as the coffee shop and specific hides.
