Penlan Farm is a one hour drive from the welsh coastal town of Aberystwyth.

Spa town of Llandrindod Wells with its own lake is 15-20 minutes away. Victorian festival during August. Also here is Tesco, Aldi and a small high street with interesting shops and places to eat.

Knighton, The Offas Dyke Centre and Glyndwrs Way, Observatory. Pubs, coffee shops, walks and interesting shops. (20-minutes away)

Presteigne, Judges Lodging, renowned Presteigne festival in August, nice little high street and ‘Bamfords’ world renowned hand woven carpets/rugs. Also houses its own Gallery and café (20-25 minutes away)

Ludlow, old, ‘up market’ market town, lots going on here, Castle and noted for the many events and festivals that take place. At least 3 Michelin starred restaurants here (50-minutes away but you could spend all day here)

Hay-on-Wye, famous for The Hay festival and town of books, The Globe and antique shops. Again, nice eateries, high street market and events (50-minutes away).

Builth Wells, home to The Royal Welsh Agricultural Show ground during July. The spring fair in May and the winter fair in December plus many other events throughout the year.

OUTDOOR & ACTIVE

Elan Valley Reservoirs just outside Rhayader, 25-minutes away and a cycle path can be used to get there.

Underhill riding stables (2 miles away)

Red kite feeding station at Gigrin farm near Rhayader (20-minutes away)

Clay pigeon shooting at Griffin Lloyd (15-minutes away)

In Llandrindod Wells you can visit the National Cycle Museum.

Cefnsuran Rally School, it's hard to beat the stunning views & winding rally circuits at this amazing venue used for Rally Work pre-event testing. 

Lots of local shows throughout the summer months, which include horse and sheep classes/shows, treasure hunts, speed shears and lots more if guests wanted to get into the community spirit!

The heart of Wales line trail, a wonderful walk weaving its way between stations on one of Britain’s most scenic railways. The route from Craven Arms to Llanelli, is 141 miles long! Book in the lodge.
